The Kosciuszko Foundation is pleased to announce a competition for scientists from Ukraine, who, as a result of the Russian invasion, found themselves in Poland, or who are still in Ukraine. The purpose of the award is to honor scientific achievements and support outstanding scientists in the fields of molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, immunology, and bio–medicine. The award may be given to scientists with Ukrainian citizenship and at least a doctorate (PhD). In order to be eligible for the award, one must be an employee or research associate of a higher education institution or other scientific research unit and submit the required documents.

The prize amount is 30 000 USD. The committee of experts may decide to divide the sum, with each individual prize being a minimum of 5000 USD.

The application must be accompanied by an opinion/letter of recommendation (also in electronic form) from a researcher working in one of the fields listed in the title of the competition, as well as the following attachments:

• the candidate’s curriculum vitae (CV), including a brief description of the candidate’s past academic record and major research achievements;
• list of 5 most important publications in national or international scientific journals;
• written consent for processing personal data.
  

The expert committee of The Kosciuszko Foundation, appointed by the President of The Kosciuszko Foundation, is responsible for the comprehensive and professional level of the competition. The decision to award the prize is made by the Board of The Kosciuszko Foundation.

Applications are open until January 31, 2023. The results of the competition will be announced by March 15, 2023.
