Scholarships for People from Ukraine and Other Foreigners
Here are scholarships aimed at individuals from Ukraine and other Eastern European countries.
For students in their final year of humanities studies, under 25 years old, who are preparing master’s (or diploma) theses on the history and modernity of Central and Eastern Europe.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs offers full scholarships for the 2025/26 academic year to students from Eastern Partnership countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine).

Ukraine in European Dialogue – Junior Fellowship
This Junior Visiting Fellowship supports research by Ukrainian scholars who are completing or have recently completed their Ph.D. The program offers young, exceptionally talented researchers access to the resources of the Institute for Human Sciences (IWM) in Vienna, allowing them to pursue their research projects.

Residential Scholarships for Ukrainian Researchers
Thanks to the generous support of the City of Vienna, the Institute for Human Sciences (IWM) has been inviting Ukrainian researchers who had to leave their country due to the Russian-Ukrainian war since February 2022.
